Pocket Tissue Measurement Guide
Pocket Tissue Size: Sheet Dimensions, Folded Size, Pack Size and Sheet Count
Quick answer
Pocket tissue size is not one number. Record the unfolded sheet dimensions, folded tissue size, finished pack length × width × height, ply and sheet count as separate fields. Public products use different combinations, so a retail label such as mini, standard or travel size is not a universal production specification.

Five separate fields
What does “pocket tissue size” actually mean?
A size can describe the open tissue, its folded footprint or the finished pack. Add the field name and units every time so two offers can be compared without guessing.
- 01
Unfolded sheet size
The dimensions of one tissue opened flat without stretching it. This describes the usable sheet, not the pack.
Record as: Short side × long side, with units
- 02
Folded tissue size
The footprint of one tissue after the specified fold. It cannot be inferred safely from the unfolded size unless the fold pattern is also known.
Record as: Folded width × folded length, with units
- 03
Finished pack size
The outside dimensions of the filled, sealed soft pack. Measure the finished sample rather than the flat wrapper film.
Record as: Length × width × height, with units
- 04
Ply
The layer count of each tissue. Ply is not a substitute for sheet size, sheet count or GSM.
Record as: Number of tissue layers
- 05
Sheet count
The number of folded tissues inside one pack. Keep this separate from ply and from the number of individual packs in a multipack.
Record as: Physical tissues per individual pack
Public market examples
Published numbers vary—and often describe different fields
These examples were checked in September 2026. They are third-party listing details, not TISVEN specifications, endorsements or universal standards. Their purpose is to show why the field label matters.

Why the pack changes
The same sheet size does not guarantee the same folded or packed size
The finished pack is a combination result. Fold, paper construction, count and wrapper fit all matter, so approving only an unfolded sheet dimension leaves important production questions open.
Fold pattern
Two tissues with the same open-sheet dimensions can produce different folded footprints when the folding sequence changes.
Ply and basis weight
Layer count and paper basis weight contribute to stack thickness. Review both instead of using ply alone as a thickness claim.
Sheet count
More tissues usually require more stack volume, but the final pack height still depends on paper, fold and packing compression.
Wrapper fit
The wrapper must fit the tissue stack and seal correctly. A nominal film layout is not the same as the outside dimensions of a filled pack.
Need to separate layer count from paper basis weight? Read the GSM vs ply guide.
Sample measurement
How to measure a pocket tissue sample
Use the same units throughout and keep photos with the measurement record. If a value comes from a seller page instead of your physical sample, label it as a reference rather than an approved specification.
- 01
Photograph the unopened pack
Show the front, back, opening and both end seals. Place a ruler in the frame if the sample cannot be sent.
- 02
Measure the finished pack
Record length, width and maximum height in one unit. Do not flatten the pack to obtain a smaller height.
- 03
Remove one tissue
Record its folded footprint before opening it. Note the orientation so width and length cannot be swapped later.
- 04
Open the tissue flat
Smooth it gently without stretching and record both sides. Add a photo showing the ruler and the complete sheet.
- 05
Verify ply and count
Separate the layers at an edge to confirm ply, then count the physical folded tissues in one individual pack.
Current TISVEN references
Use project options as a starting point, then confirm exact dimensions
TISVEN's current pocket tissue page lists the following quotation and sample-review options. They describe the current project framework; they are not presented as one global pocket tissue standard.
- Pack format
- Mini / standard / buyer reference
- Ply options
- 3 Ply / 4 Ply
- Sheet count
- Configured around the target pack size and packaging format
- Review fields
- Tissue size, fold, ply, count and finished pack dimensions

What to confirm before requesting a pocket tissue quote
Start with measurements and count. Then add only enough pack information to identify the intended finished format. For artwork, seams, seals, multipacks and cartons, continue with the dedicated packaging guide.

Buyer questions
Pocket tissue size FAQ
What is the standard pocket tissue size?
There is no single universal pocket tissue size. Public products list different sheet, pack and count combinations. For sourcing, replace labels such as mini or travel size with the actual unfolded sheet size, folded size and finished pack dimensions.
Is pocket tissue sheet size the same as pack size?
No. Sheet size describes one opened tissue, folded size describes the folded tissue footprint, and pack size describes the filled wrapper. Record all three separately.
How should I measure a pocket tissue pack?
Measure the sealed, filled pack as length × width × height in one unit. Keep the orientation consistent and attach marked photos when the dimension order could be misunderstood.
Does a higher ply automatically require a larger pack?
Not by itself. Final pack size depends on the combined tissue basis weight, ply, sheet count, fold, wrapper fit and packing compression. Confirm the combination on a finished sample.

Preparing a pocket tissue specification?
Send the sheet, fold and finished pack measurements separately.
Share the unfolded sheet size, folded size, finished pack L × W × H, ply, physical tissue count and any reference sample. TISVEN can review the combination before quotation or sample planning.
